03 Jul Midsummer Mayhem
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through 2020. What a year this has been! We’re aware that this pandemic has been incredibly difficult for many of you. This season has lasted much longer than most of us anticipated. I want you to know that we so appreciate your prayers and patience as we’ve tried to navigate these uncharted waters.
The uncertainty has made it nearly impossible to make plans, but here we go again giving it a shot! We know how important it is for our students to reconnect here at church. And, quite frankly, we just miss seeing them around!
For the month of July, we’re planning a Midsummer Mayhem that includes weekly Bible studies (w/worship music) and activities for both Middle and High Schoolers. Here’s a look at our calendar beginning July 12th:
- Sundays @ 7pm (High School)
- Wednesdays @ 7pm (Middle School)
- Fridays @ 5pm (Middle School)
- Fridays @ 7pm (High School)
Again, these events begin July 12th and will run the last three weeks of July. You can see the exact dates reflected on our CSM calendar here.
Please note that we are planning for these to be outdoor events. And while we will be allowed to exceed the 25-person limit for outdoor activities, we will be social distancing when possible and wearing face masks when necessary. Students will be required to bring their own face masks. If someone has been unable to obtain a mask, we will have a limited number available onsite.
Hand sanitizing stations and restrooms will also be available for each event. But please keep in mind that chairs will not be provided (for Bible studies). Students will be allowed to either sit on the grass or bring a lawn chair or blanket. If we run into another weather issue, we’ve already secured indoor space to use as a backup so we can avoid cancellation.
For students who do not feel comfortable attending in person, we will be live streaming the Bible studies via Zoom. If you have underlying health conditions or feel ill, we ask that you stay at home and take advantage of this alternative solution.
We’re hoping that these events will allow our students to get out of the house a bit and reconnect with their peers in a safe environment. We’d appreciate your prayers for a fruitful month!
Please know that we’re here for you and would love to connect personally. Our team will be working to contact our students individually over the next few weeks. If you know of an urgent need within our ministry, please let us know as soon as possible. We want to make sure no student slips through the cracks.
Again, thank you for your patience and prayers. We hope you’ll make plans to connect with us at one of these upcoming events.
