Basic Life
BASIC Life is one of our weekly connecting points for our High School students. The purpose and structure is for the High School students to choose from several "electives" which are often times topical and/or grade or gender specific. These classes will encourage the students to be in God’s word, learn about who He is, and to encourage one another to live life fully, under the reality of His Lordship. Basic Life Classes meet at 6:00pm in the upstairs classrooms of the FC Building on Sunday nights starting Sunday, January 6th.
The "electives" for this semester are listed below:
Father/Son Small Group-FC 202
This is a different kind of opportunity. Young man, did you ever wish you could talk with someone older than you, like your dad, about something bothering you? Dad, did you ever wish you could talk with someone your son’s age about something you don’t understand? Taking the instruction of Col 1:28, the objective of this elective is to facilitate growth through multi-generational interaction. The centerpiece is open discussion and accountability using Scripture, real life issues, personal struggles and victories. Well, maybe this will help. Using a book on Christian manhood, we will have the opportunity to discuss things that relate to us as men (young and old). And maybe, just maybe, you’ll learn something from your dad…and your dad will learn something from you. Book: One2One: Real Men Cost: $5 per book ($10 total)

Idols of the Heart-FC 209
Do we love Him with everything we have? No? Matthew 22:37-38 is a direct command that tells us to love the Lord our God with all our hearts and souls and minds. ALL. No room for anything else. What idols might we have in our lives as young ladies that may keep us from obeying and living out this command? This is the heart of this BASIC class that is available to all high school girls who are willing to take a journey that will explore this and other questions. We will go through various passages in Scripture learn to identify our idols, remove those idols, and then replace that with a love for God and a heart that longs for Him alone.
